GLOBAL 4GIVENESS DAY-AUG. 26

Global Forgiveness day started as National Forgiveness Day in 1994. It started small with one lone banner in downtown Victoria, British Columbia. The day was dedicated to evoking the healing power of forgiveness.
Over time, more and more people began to identify with their personal need to forgive and be forgiven. As the annual celebration progressed, public attention has increased to regular exposure through the media, and simple word-of-mouth. Who wouldn’t agree with the sponsors of this day; that with a little more forgiveness we all help to make the world a much better place.

This holiday invites everyone to:

* let go of grudges
* Forgive because it's most likely a misunderstanding anyway
* reach out and attempt to mend relationships through apology and forgiveness.
* Give someone the opportunity to be forgiven

When you forgive, you let go of anger. Forgiving others, and being forgiven yourself, is actually good for your health. It has the complete opposite biological reaction of being enraged. It’s calming, it lowers your blood pressure, and it makes you happier.
